OS FOAMADRIL CONC - Concentrated Foamer
Foam fluids are used in air drilling applications when extra carrying capacity is required or to reduce the necessary air volume. Air and/or foam drilling has many applications including drilling in loss circulation zones, drilling through unconsolidated formations and water-well drilling.
Care is necessary when choosing foamers to determine the quality of the make-up water.
OS FOAMADRIL CONC is a surfactant concentrate, which can be diluted with water, to give a broad spectrum drilling foamer that produces a stiff foam suitable for drilling activities. OS FOAMADRIL CONC performs well in the presence of oil and metal cations such as calcium. Recommended dilution rate is to use one drum of concentrate to give two drums of commercial product.

OS FOAMADRIL CONC is a wide spectrum foamer that can be used in both fresh water and brines.
Dose levels will depend upon the hardness of the water, the chloride levels and the amount of contaminants encountered (e.g. oil) and the stiffness of the foam required. The following will serve as a guide. For fresh water drilling, the treatment rate should be about 0.15% of OS FOAMADRIL CONC in water (1.5 litres per 1 m3 make-up water).
For sea water drilling, the treatment rate should be about 0.2% to 0.5% in water. For wells that are prone to flooding, the foam quality should be maintained by injecting OS FOAMADRIL CONC into the air line. To dilute to commercial strength, one drum of OS FOAMADRIL CONC and one drum of water should be used.
OS FOAMADRIL CONC is packaged in 200 kg drums.
