OS MARBLE BLOCK - Various Sized Ground Marble
Bridging & Weighting Agents & Reservoir LCM
In many reservoirs it is very important that any solids added to the drilling fluid should be acid-soluble in case damage remediation is required. Bridging and weighting agents should not only be acid-soluble but also have sufficient hardness not to degrade or disintegrate during circulation.
In order to maintain the appropriate particle size, and remain effective, calcium carbonate particles used in reservoirs should be derived from metamorphic marble, and not the softer sedimentary limestone.
When lost circulation occurs in reservoir sections care must be taken to ensure that any and all LCMs used do not cause irredeemable damage to producing zones.

Advantages
OS MARBLE BLOCK is a very effective bridging agent. It is acid soluble and therefore minimises formation damage. Being harder than limestone, OS MARBLE BLOCK resists particle-size degradation. It is essentially chemical inert and therefore it has a minimum effect on the other drilling fluid properties.
Application
OS MARBLE BLOCK 10, 15 and 35 can be applied as a classic bridging agent or as the primary solid weighting agent in water and oil based reservoir drill-in fluids. Suggested concentrations for bridging purposes are 5-15 ppb and fluid loss should be monitored to gauge its continued effectiveness as drilling progresses.
OS MARBLE BLOCK 35, 65 and 130 can be used at up to 50 ppb for LCM pill applications.
Packaging
OS MARBLE BLOCK is packaged in 25 kg sacks & 1 M/T Big Bags.
