OS PAYSAL BLOC I, II, III & IV - Ground Sized Salts
Reservoir Drill-In Fluid
OS PAYSAL SYSTEM comprises of specially ground and sized, pure Sodium Chloride salt as the main bridging agent, together with optimised levels of water based polymers to provide viscosity (particle suspension) and tight fluid loss control. The viscosifier is high quality Xanthan Gum and the fluid loss polymer is a specially modified polysaccharide intended purely for use in monovalent saturated brines.
Product Information
OS PAYSAL BLOC range comprises 4 separate grades of ground sodium chloride salt designed to augment the weighting and basic bridging properties of OS PAYSAL SYSTEM.
OS PAYSAL BLOC I is added primarily to increase the density of the pill using solid salt.
OS PAYSAL BLOC II, III & IV are added primarily when greater permeabilities / pore throat size/ sand screen gaps / rock fractures need to be sealed temporarily.

Application
OS PAYSAL BLOC I, II, &III are added once the base Salt Pill mix has been made. They are added in concentrations from 20-60ppb depending on application and well conditions. Any pill containing OS PAYSAL BLOC I, II & III can be pumped safely through normal bottom-hole assembly (B.H.A.) equipment.
OS PAYSAL BLOC IV is a very large sized coarse lost circulation additive which can be added to any sized salt based ‘pill’ but, if included, cannot and MUST NOT BE PUMPED THROUGH ANY B.H.A.!!! If this occurs then the B.H.A. will be blocked off. It can only be applied through the following means:
A: Through a side-port system bypassing the B.H.A.
B: Through open-ended drill-pipe.
C: Down the annulus between rill-pipe and the open hole.
Packaging
OS PAYSAL BLOC I, II, III & IV are packaged in 50 lb sacks.
